Dodger Stadium: 7:00pm Start
Dance yourself clean Friday night as the DJs at Silent Frisco burn down the house with an LCD Soundsystem vs. Talking Heads soundtrack. Angel City Brewery’s Monthly Neighborhood Clean Up
Downtown brewery—and Time Out favorite—Angel City serves up a pint of do-gooding with its monthly neighborhood cleanup. Volunteers meet at a different neighborhood bar each month before setting out for a few hours of cleanup work. Angel City will provide a t-shirt, pair of gloves, trash bags and a trash picker, so you just need to bring along an "I love LA" attitude. Take part in beautifying different LA communities, from Venice to Boyle Heights, and reward your hard work back at the bar with a post-cleanup cold brew. Check back for each month's location and e-mail ahead of time to register.
Moonlight Rollerway Jubilee
Humorist and Americana addict Charles Phoenix hosts this endearingly corny musical extravaganza, where the Glendale rink’s in-house pros will perform a variety show on skates. We’re talking flamboyant costumes, schamltzy musical numbers and roller skating tricks, all underscored by Dominic Cangalosi, a.k.a, “The World’s Greatest Roller Rink Organist.” Afterwards, everyone is invited to skate around the rink and literally do the hokey pokey. We don’t know about you, but we were sold at the mere mention of roller skates.
Food GPS Rib Festival At Chinatown Central Plaza
What would summer be without a little bit of BBQ? Sink your teeth into tender slabs of meat at the inaugural Food GPS Rib Festival at Chinatown Central Plaza, where you’ll have the chance to sample ribs and sides prepared by 12 of LA’s finest chefs, including Chad Colby of Chi Spacca and Eduardo Ruiz of Corazón Y Miel. Of course, there’ll be plenty of cocktails along with craft beer and soda to wash it all down.
